Why should you buy ski real estate in Killington?

If you haven't checked out the Killington Resort's new website, you should.  They have put lots of valuable information out there and keep it updated regularly.  During my normal browsing, earlier today, to check on current ski conditions, I spotted a new page comparing ski resorts in the northeast.  When I read it, all I could conclude was that, if you're going to buy real estate near a ski resort in the Northeast, the choice should be simple.  Killington has:

  • the most lifts,
  • the highest lift-served peak,
  • the most skiable acres,
  • the most skiable acres served by snowmaking,
  • the best variety of terrain suitable for all types of skiers,
  • and is a reasonable driving distance from northeastern metro areas.

Killington Selects Carl Spangler To Head New Dept.

Carl Spangler has been selected to head the Killington's new Economic and Tourism Department.  Spangler has held positions in state and local government and has been involved in Vermont's recreation industry for over 30 years.   Spangler has also served as a senior planner and development officer for several ski resorts including Killington and Sugarbush. 


This Department is being funded from a 1 percent local option tax which is estimated to generate over $600,000 annually.  The goal of the Department is to create and sustain year-round programs to boost Killington's local economy.  Mr. Spangler is a firm believer in the development of a Village and should be a strong liaison between the town of Killington and S.P. Land, the developers.
